Surprising but true: whether you’re dieting or maintaining your weight, you don’t have to be hungry. If you are not – if you are often or always hungry – try to determine the cause and remedy it.

The less you eat, the less hungry you are. This type of diet, because of its natural effects on insulin, is the most powerful appetite suppressant available.
Two pieces of advice:
1 – Avoid all forms of carbohydrates (sugars) (except the amounts allowed in your diet). If you don’t, you will feel the opposite effect: constant cravings. Don’t forget that bread and starchy foods turn into blood sugar. Milk, vegetables and fruit are also sources of carbohydrates.
2 – Eat a source of protein (in the form of food or supplements) every three to four hours or sooner if hunger sets in.

Start by eliminating the physical causes of hunger. Then eliminate the psychological causes.
Physical causes :
1 – Hypoglycemia or low blood sugar is the main cause of these uncontrollable cravings. Hypoglycemia can be recognized by the presence of physical symptoms such as sweating, internal tremors, headaches, fatigue and irritability. Time is always a factor; for example, four hours after a meal. All these symptoms are relieved by the uncontrolled ingestion of an abundant amount of food. If, after following the above advice, you still have uncontrollable cravings for food, consult your doctor. He or she can help you eliminate this problem fairly easily.
2 – Fatigue is a powerful trigger for hunger. There is only one way to treat this problem: get enough rest. Seven to eight hours of sleep is usually enough.
3 – Premenstrual syndrome in some women causes cravings that are difficult to control. Your doctor can help you cope with this condition.
4 – Stomach upset is often a forgotten symptom of hunger. Food acts as an antacid one or two hours after a meal. Your doctor will be able to recommend the appropriate treatment for your stomach.
5 – Certain medications may also be responsible for your constant hunger. Talk to your doctor.
Psychological causes :
If you have eliminated the physical causes and are still hungry, look for emotional reasons. The greater the deviation from the diet or bulimia, the stronger the emotion. The loss of control over diet begins soon after an emotional situation arises and ends when the situation is resolved. Many people have not yet learned to recognize the association between “I am going through a stressful or disturbing situation” and “I don’t know why I am so hungry.
